Further reaserch

After choosing to produce an R&B music video I continued to research into other R&B artist and  music  videos both male and female, to draw a few ideas of what my own Video could look like. some of which are narrative based and others performance based.
Below are links to some of the videos I watched.
Link to Trey Songz 'Smatphones'
This video shows the relationship between the lyrics and the visuals there is also allot of voyeurism, especially with the women and there lack of clothing within the video.

Link to Beyonce 'Love on Top'

After washing a these videos i can conclude that in general R&b Videos are expected to feature :
The use of the 'Fade ' from shot to shot - this presents a smooth change throughout the video which sets the tone of the whole video -This is fitting to genre being rhythm and blues (Blues being relaxing and calming)

The R&B lifestyle is glamorous and expensive -which is shown through the pricey  props (Fancy Mise en scene)

The pace from scene to scene flows with the beat of the song - making it very captivating to the audience

The mise en scene is minimal (Big empty rooms ) this  puts all the focus on the artist singing. R&B music is all about the artist communicating with the and connection with the audience

The lighting is normally very low  to convey the meaning of the song -whether its Sad and emotive or  sexy and relaxing the lighting is adjusted accordingly.

There is a connection between the lyrics of the song and what is being shown   on the screen - the artist is not only telling  the audience their story but showing them.
